Tonight we had a small celebration with a fire. The weather this April has been cool so the fire felt nice. We’ve used this fire pit for years and over time, various metal bits, odds n’ ends, and nails have crept into the ashes in spite of our best efforts over time to clear out the debris.
Tonight my son saw a fiery red-hot nail so he pulled it out with some pokers. It was getting dark so my wife suggested we should get a photo. The iPhone wasn’t going to handle this task, so I got the big camera and began experimenting. We ended up at 1600 ISO at 1/20 @ f4 with a -1/3 EV comp.
Oh, the blue spots in the background is the evening sky through the fir trees across the street.
