November 5, 2014: Day 5 of 365 Daily Photos – Japanese Maple In Fall Colours

Japanese Maples are one of my favorite trees – mainly from the interesting shape of both the trunk and leaf structure, the “helicopter” seeds that fall as they mature and the gorgeous colors of the leaves as they change throughout the year.  I particularly love the way the leaves turn that particular shade of red in the November time frame here in the northwest.

We have two Japanese maples, both miniatures, today’s photo is the first view I have when I walk out of the front door and the other on the back patio.

All photos with the Nikon Df, 55mm macro-Nikkore, handheld, ISO 200, 1/60 @ 5.6
