November 25, 2014: Day 25 of 365 Daily Photos: Holly Tree

A number of years ago, my wife and I pried out a 6-8″ Holly tree growing out of a crack in the sidewalk at a dear friend’s house.  It took quite a bit of time as we being very careful as we prodded, nudged, pried with an extremely slender screwdriver but finally, we were successful and we were able to pull the tiny Holly tree out with most of the very long root intact.

We planted that tree in different locations in the yard until we found the perfect spot where it is now has been growing quite healthily – that little 6-8 inch tree is now over seven tall, lush, and now bears many, many berries.  The sidewalk Holly is three to four times the size of the nursery grown Holly trees we bought during the same time frame.

So, today’s Daily Photo is not the whole tree but a small section…
